Omaha WUG
Fourteen members of the Omaha WebSphere User Group welcomed two guest speakers to the meeting held in November.

Joel Pech, IBM Rational Software Architect, presented on IBM's SOA Tooling, primarily directed toward developers. Click here to view Joel's presentation.

Jan Wolff, Account Executive with WebLayers, presented on SOA governance. Click here to view Jan's presentation.

The two presentations worked well together and generated lively discussion among the User Group members and presenters alike. We would like to thank Joel and Jan for their presentations, which were both very well received by the User Group members.

New York Capital District WUG
The New York Capital District WebSphere User Group's November meeting was well received by over 30 attendees.

Mr. Bob Loomis, Chief Technology Officer/Program Manager and Mr. Chris Gorka, Project Director for the NYS OSC Portal project spoke to the user group.

Bob and Chris discussed the history of the portal program, the customer analysis and resulting processes to enroll users, and provided an overview of the architecture and three initial applications.

We would like to thank Bob and Chris for the excellent presentation, and everyone who attended the User Group meeting.

Atlanta WUG
The Atlanta WUG met in November to discuss IBM® Tivoli® Composite Application Manager for WebSphere.

IBM provided an overview of the ITCAM suite of products used to monitor end user performance, SOA governance, operational status of J2EE applications, and provide deep dive diagnostics of WebSphere Applications.

ITCAM was the featured product for which an in-depth technical discussion and demo were conducted. ITCAM for WebSphere helps increase performance in business-critical applications. It provides real-time problem detection, analysis and repair to help maintain the availability and performance of on demand applications.

The subject and speakers were well received with several requests for follow up from people wanting to use ITCAM. The Atlanta WUG is eager to hold many more meetings in 2008 - please monitor our page and join us next year!
